Tricks To Turn WhatsApp Into A Fortress: From Hiding The IP To Scheduling Audio Deletion

Meta Is Committed To Guaranteeing Security On WhatsApp

For years, Mark Zuckerberg’s technology company has constantly worked to improve the WhatsApp platform, focusing on the privacy and comfort of users. This is reflected in the numerous features implemented, such as the option to customize who can add you to groups or view your profile photo. But the innovation continues beyond there. Meta has several new features prepared that will further strengthen user information security and protection.

Hiding IP During Calls

In the beta testing phase, WhatsApp introduces a new feature allowing you to hide the user’s IP address when making calls. This measure prevents interlocutors from accessing additional information, such as location. The feature is currently being tested for the Android version and is expected to be available to all users in the coming months, including iPhone users.

Audio Self-Destruction

The Meta platform also allows sending audio that self-destructs once the receiver hears it. This feature, also in beta for iOS and Android, further increases the privacy of those sharing sensitive information, as it will be automatically deleted after playing.

Locking Chats With A Password

WhatsApp allows you to protect conversations using passwords or facial and fingerprint authentication. This feature hides chats from prying eyes by placing them at the bottom of the conversations list. To access them, the user must provide a key or use one of the authentication methods mentioned above. Currently, this feature is available for both iPhone and Android.

Goodbye To SMS Codes

Recently, Android devices have added the option to use “passkeys” to log into the app, a more secure form of authentication than traditional keys or access codes sent via SMS when you first log in to an app. new device. At the moment, this functionality is only available on Android. It represents a significant advance in terms of security, especially considering the constant attempts of criminals to trick users and steal their WhatsApp verification keys. Passkeys require a facial or fingerprint scan before registering the key with the service, making it a much more secure option.

In conclusion, Meta is committed to providing WhatsApp users with a safe and secure experience. By introducing these new features, the platform ensures that it remains a trusted and confidential option for millions worldwide.
